Heads Up, It's Mold Season
Mold spores are everywhere in our environment.
End of summer conditions and weather make the perfect climate for mold to thrive. We see cases every year.
Mold spores need water to thrive, so humid, moist conditions allow for mold proliferation. Problematic growth occurs under chronic moisture conditions in the presence of organic materials such as wood, drywall, ceiling tiles, and wallpaper.
Some species of mold are less harmful, however many such as stachybotrys, commonly referred to as “black mold,” are particularly toxic and may cause long term health issues.
Signs of a mold problem:
Musty damp odors
Moist or damp areas
Warped baseboards or trim
Water marks or discolored areas on walls or ceilings
If you see any of these signs in your home, you'll need a mold analysis and a plan to safely restore the built environment. Care must be taken to protect the health of your family when treating your home's mold problem.
